Dave Perkins is a "baby boomer" - he started in radio in the vinyl era with LPs and singles, was part of the CD revolution of the 80s and now works within the highly technical computer age. 4MK-FM now boats computer broadcast technology the equal of any major capital city market. Having said that, Dave's "magazine-style" program is geared to the 25-54 age-group and the self-professed "music nut" regularly drags out or plays songs by request that haven't been heard for years in some cases. The program is laid-back in style except for the fishing program between 7 and 8am when the effervescent Steve Palmer joins Dave to talk about everything from "where the fish are biting" to "how to hold a big fish without killing it". This program, sponsored by Barra Pro and BMG Services is one of the most listened-to shows on 4MK-FM. After 8am, Dave also talks abut health and lifestyle to Steve Eden from City Health and Fitness who also sponsor the segments.
